of Elvis at the annual Elvis Festival in Collingwood, Ontario

Jer and Phyl attended this Canadian rally, equivalent to a US State
HOG Rally, in August.
         About 1200 HOGs from as far away as The Yukon, New Mexico,
British Columbia, Florida and California came. Jerry and I
represented California and our chapters here in Eureka and Redding.
We also helped to swell the numbers for the Chapter Challenge for the
Canadian chapter to which we belong: the fledgling Kitchener based
GRAND RIVER Chapter, (209 paid members as of the July 25 Chapter
meeting) proudly sponsored by Rocky's Harley-Davidson of Kitchener,
Ontario. Almost 60 members from the Kitchener area attended, (We won
the Chapter Challenge!!) as well as participated in games, poker
runs, and the big parade. All tolled, we surpassed the other chapters
by a mere 23 participation points, to take the coveted first place award.
         A highlight of the weekend was the performance by the
precision "Golden Helmets" Harley Motorcycle unit of the OPP (Ontario
Provincial Police) this year led for the first time ever by a female

         We had a lot of fun touring again with our HOG friends from
Canada, and sight seeing around Lakes Huron and Superior.
